On Monday 5th September, RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland)’s new cohort of undergraduate students, beginning their Medicine, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy courses, had their first day at the College.
As part of their orientation, a key event is the President’s Reception, which took place that evening, and was hosted by Professor John Hyland, RCSI President.

This reception is an opportunity for our new student’s families and friends to join in the excitement of the beginning of their life as an RCSI student. The President was joined by Professor Cathal Kelly, CEO/ Registrar, RCSI who gave an overview of the College and its wider activates. This was followed by a presentation from Professor Clive Lee, Professor of Anatomy, who provided a unique perspective on RCSI and some of its most distinguished graduates.
Students and their families also had the opportunity to meet with academic and non-academic staff – a perfect way to get settled into life at RCSI.
